What is it that draws me towards Nick Drake’s music? I can’t really pinpoint one single factor, I mean how could I possibly? The first time I encountered his music was in HMV in 2004. I was casually browsing through the CD’s when Riverman came on. I hadn’t heard anything like it before. It actually frightened me. And music rarely does that to me. So to cut a long story short I asked one of the attendants what the song was called and winded up buying “Five Leaves Left” off the back of it.

So although I’ve only been a recent fan of Nick’s work I do feel though it’s time enough to created a website which openly acknowledges my admiration for his music.

I find it pretty strange when people say that Nick’s music is depressing. Ok maybe his downfall has helped place everything into a darker light. Going on his music alone, I feel it is quite uplifting and even therapeutic in places. Heh, maybe I’m just a lost cause.
